B.Sc. (Hons) in Computing (Software Design and Development), Level 8
Limerick Institute of Technology – LC415

4 year full-time course

Course Overview

Today we interact with software using our laptops, mobile phones, GPS systems, tablets and Games Consoles. Software is all around us and the requirement for individuals to design, develop, test and maintain quality applications continues to grow annually. Software Design and Development is the study of concepts, technologies, processes and methodologies which contribute to the engineering and construction of software systems.

Our suite of Computing programmes in Thurles have been specifically designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to obtain a strong foundation in general computing activities in the early years of study. Later years of the programme aim to provide students with specialised understanding in areas of software engineering and systems development. The tools and techniques learned in this programme will offer graduates many career opportunities in a wide variety of industries.

If you are interested in being involved in the development of new and innovative products then Software Design and Development at LIT Thurles is the programme for you! If you want to work with evolving technologies and be involved in an industry that constantly changes the way in which people interact with technology then this is the ideal career path for you.
