Just noticed this on FileShack. I had heard rumours of Woo getting involved in the development of a game but when I saw this I got rather excited.

The game’s development is being overseen by action director John Woo, and stars Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila.[/quote:514de0d96a]
Oh yes, that means the Hard Boiled licence. In case some of you havn’t seen Hard Boiled, its one of the best Hong Kong “Action Operas” ever made and marked Woo’s last film over there before heading to the States. Watch it, thats all I have to say.

Anyway I digress, the game itself is being designed using the Unreal 3.0 engine and from the looks of it will be a 3rd person shooter in the vein of Max Payne.Trailer is available from FileShack here.

EDIT: Just watched the trailer…Give. Me. This. Game. Now. :D

im thinking this is going to take a little from max payne with the bullet time action and gameplay mechanics. would also be awesome to have panic fighting gameplay, like in resident evil 4, wer in mid-battle slow-mo you gotta press combination of buttons in order to disarm an enemy. well, thats my thoughts  :P

Hard Boiled is such a great film. I remember seeing it years and years ago at one of those late night Dublin film festival screenings and my jaw was on the ground for the whole duration. Its a pity his Hollywood movies are so bad …….

I agree with the suggestion of a game based on Old Boy. It could introduce entirely new forms of gameplay base on eating live octupusses (octopii??).
