      I mentioned an upcoming game release on boards.ie and got banned. Though they seem to allow it now. :?

      Yeah literally the only problem with boards is sometimes you get some trigger happy mods – never experienced it myself but that’s because I’m fairly harmless with whatever I might post. Glad they updated the forum from Game Modding, which was totally floundering :roll:

      If anyone has issues with boards mods I may be able to liaise with them. I know some people who are senior mods there.

      Always worth bringing stuff up if you think your posts have been deleted unfairly! Most mods are pretty friendly really :)

      Boards are pretty strict. As mentioned try and bring it up, most likely they just didn’t understand your post.

      boards = commercial site and about making advertising to fund it

      gamedevelopers.ie = non-commercial site

      that’s the difference at the end of the day ;p

      Personally, the boards forum is dead to me.

      I made the push to get it started (you may remember me annoying people on Facebook) and when it had enough votes, some old school mod came in at the end and moved for an amalgamation of an old forum.

      So it happened as he suggested and he made a speech about having a bigger vision for the forum than the people who got it started (never mentioned my username once.)

      This same mod that they handed it to was mod of three dead forums as it was, and doesn’t have a clue about game development or the indie game community in Ireland.

      Anyway, that’s just Boards politics for ya. It made me quickly realise that trying to centralise Irish game dev chat in a massive commercial website was a bad idea. Promoting new games would be core, and it’s just not allowed.
