      Hi all,

Well…I figured I’d get the ball rolling. Anyone suggest a date/time/venue?

I’m good for anytime after the 17th…(and it will be my first shindig!)

      B.

Meh. It’s going to be cold. And busy. And Christmas.

      Grumble.

I suppose there is no point in waiting until after Christmas, as then we will only collide with the New Years crowd.

I should be good for the 19th.

Are we set on the 19th? As flying is the cheapest and fastest option from Cork if I book today sometime.

If the thread doesn’t lose momentum and people don’t forget, then it looks like it’ll be the 19th.

Why on earth do you need to fly from Cork to Dubin? Can’t you take a bus or use your legs and walk? Ain’t it like going from Lisburn to Belfast? A plane… Shockin’.

well since you asked, Im going to tell you, no matter how much you dont want me to!

bus is the same price as the plane now, it also takes 30 mins to go by plane and 4 hours + by bus. Finally, the most important part, is that you get to feel like your in a rocket ship when the plane takes off, WWWWWWWWWOOOOOSSSHHH!

Worth the price for that alone

I’m easy for either Friday night or Saturday night, or possibly both.

It will be my first shindig, and I’m hoping to bring some of the Letterkenny contingent down with me (FRANK – that’s you!).

Right So. The duke from 18:15 till the last person leaves.
      http://www.dublinpubscene.com/thepubs/theduke_map.html

Hows that? I know 18:15 may be early but concerns for seats were raised. If no one is around I will billy-no-mates it for a little bit (drinking alone does not make me an alcoholic, its not being able to stop that does it :) ).

The Duke, tonight, 6.15pm, sound. I’ll shoot for that one so.

And as for Saturday’s gig, same time/place?

      Howdy all.

got to the Duke around 9 last night, and couldn’t spot any of ya’s.

is there still a plan to meet and greet today at some point?

if so, where’s the venue, and what time? I’m in dublin for the day, so ready when you guys are.

Ok, I plan to be over at the Duke again this evening around 7’ish, maybe an hour or two earlier if I get food there.

Met David, Aphra, johnathan, Barry, John and Gary yesterday, but had to leave just after 9. Think the second Barry arrived around then too. Seats were pretty much out of the question all evening, we made do with standing or sitting in the wet smoking area. I’m not sure things will be THAT much better this evening, but they might work out better.

I look like this. I’ll give you a ring Brendan when I get there.

Ok, I should be in the Duke from about 5’ish onwards, with two or three others I know due to show by 7’ish. I’ll try grab a spot when I get there.

Ta. Brendan tells me NZ isn’t always so sunny and nice. Yeah, we got a warm seat or two and about the same numbers as yesterday. Plenty of chat. We should do again.

I couldn’t see anyone there on Fridaynight at all, was there from 7 till 9.30 before I decided to head off, where was everyone in the end?

Don’t let the tourist magazines fool you guys, I’ve been working in Auckland for 3 years now, and yes, it has sunshine, but also a fair amount of rain. Not as much as Donegal, but close…

And as for Wellington, it is has south-pole winds gusting through it regularly!

Last night’s meet was great (my first), with seats and everything.

For those that couldn’t make it, and are still around, we could start the ball rolling on an early JANUARY SHINDIG.

And lastly, I think GameDevelopers.ie needs like a Secret Handshake or something, as finding people in the Duke on Friday night was impossible.

If secret handshakes are too much, then perhaps T-shirts?

      -Brendan.

      Hi all,
Hope ye had a great time at the crimbo shindig – we need photos people :) I only only get in tomorrow so couldn’t make it this year!

Should be up in Dublin over the holidays though so hope to catch up with some of the usual suspects then :)

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to one and all!

      Cheers,

Likewise. I’ll be landing in Ireland on Christmas eve but trundling down south pretty much immediately. Should be in Dublin for ST. Stephen’s day night and the day after if anyone is kicking about.
