      hi folks

      Is the a site where i can find out how many companies there are in ireland and uk. i need to know the size of the freelance sound designers and composers market.

      im applying for a bursary up norf with invest ni and noribic, and need to know my competitors etc.

      any help would be great cheers

      These could be a starting point, I dont think you get an accurate figure though, some people might not be registered…some may do it part time etc…

      yeah same bursary. at the seminar we were told its gonna be like the program the dragons den. few mins to pitch your idea to them.

      don’t know of any sites listing that kind of info specifically for audio folks…. but I can tell you the market is flooded for audio and sound people, particularly freelancers

      After artists, they are the most numerous in search of industry jobs

      i was at a seminar this morning.. a composers meet up with steve reich in dublin.. there had to be more than 200 in the audience..

      there’s a lot of people around..

      mostly students though…and classical too / doing the art composing thing.

      Just pop over to game dev, and post for a programmer. If previous experience has thought me anything you should expect about 10 audio designers applying.

      Or you could post looking specifically for audio designers.
