Now skyclad yes i have seen where a lot of the ppl from these forums have come from but i think you miss the point that i’m trying to make.

I am just a concerned person that wants to get into the industy here in Ireland. I just want to know the professional backgrounds of the ppl running these forums and web site.

I’m just thinking of us noobs that are trying to get into the industry and are we getting info from total noobs, ex mod makers or actual professionals.

    REST OF POST DELETED….

    Allanon,

I am not going to spend too much time on this as I have better things to be doing with my time. If you want to check my qualifications for admining this website google me and I am not sure what qualifications you think one needs to try and run a forum for networking and sharing information. Most people have posted about themselves on the introductions thread and from there we meet and talk online and face to face.

I am now going to go back and edit your post as you have been warned if you persist in targetting certain individuals or companies that we would do this.

I think you will find from the posts here that people are not really interested in your current contributions on this topic.

    Hi all,

You may be interested to know that Allanon has now been banned from these forums for persistent disregard for our requests.

Just when I my violin skills where improving… :(

Seriously, he was given more than enough warnings, so he can only blame himself for the banning. It’s an IP Ban I presume? The last thing anyone wants is for him to register a new username and continue his childishness…..

Allanon was warned multiple times both publicly and via pm that posting derisory or potentially slanderous materials on these forums would not be tolerated, and that any personal issues he had with people should be addressed via private message or not at all.

Having failed to realise the potentially damaging impact of his statements on both the industry and this site itself, we were left with no choice but to remove his ability to post.

The site has continued to grow in terms of new visitors each and every month, and I would like to think that we have been very lucky to date with the quality of reader/poster that we have attracted. Many of those who frequent the site have met each other in person, and a large number of people have already made use of the site to meet with the various companies in Ireland and in many cases find jobs with those companies.

As a personal opinion, I am very happy that people have been able to use this site for those reasons and I hope that as the industry expands over the next few years that we will continue to remain central to both reporting on and providing contacts for people interested in getting into the industry.

I’d also like to take a minute to thank those who work in games companies and who post about their thoughts and experiences on these forums. Their wisdom has definately broadened my understanding of the workings of the industry, and without their presence, these forums would be nowhere near as successful as they have been.
