I have heard that Forfas will be doing a review of progress on policies for the games industry in Ireland this month as it is one year since they published their report on Electronic Games in Ireland…
I am hoping to meet with them on Friday so if there was something in the report which you wanted to see some activity on and there wasn’t or even if there are points of information you want to pass on let me know in advance…
this report wasn’t officially published as such but was circulated last January…if you want a copy let me know and I can bring some to the shindig..

I think anything to do with seeing if development time and costs can come under a R&D status is important, and the government is trying to push for more indigenous R&D, and even Intel is getting on their backs about it.
For stuff like middleware this is especially important, but would also apply to companies during the initial development of an engine, and tax relief would make companies in turn more attractive to investors.
