To the OP, if you’re sure you’re actually “into” computers then I’d go with a general Computer Science degree to start off with. It will give you more options when your finished and will also give you a nice grounding in both programming and the basics to some of the areas you’ll be covering in a more specialised Game Development degree.
I’m in my 3rd year of the Computer Applications degree here in DCU and I love it. I’d also recommend the Computer Science degree down in UL and I hear the course in Trinity is meant to be good aswell. I’m not going to recommend one over another so just check up the course contents on the net and see which one takes your fancy.
G’luck with the CAO anyway and don’t panic, the change of mind option is still valid for another few months so you’ll still have some time to narrow down your options. :D
