The article specifically refers to ‘british consumers’, not stereotypical hardcore gamers. Piracy is far broader than simply copying games, there is a whole world of different pirate activities out there to which every tier of society has been in contact with. So I would think it is fair to say that the majority do, as suggested by the article, deem piracy to be part of the current social makeup and acceptable.
