PS Joking aside, Noam Chomsky’s writings on Global Politics are a must-read for anyone with a hankering for this kind of thing.
I was listening to a recorded lecture of his the other day in which he referred to the famous incident of the ‘perceived over-riding obligation for pre-emptive attack on a country blatantly developing weapons of mass destruction’ and how the attackers could be construed as morally justified…
He was referring not to Iraq, but to the attack on Pearl Harbour, and subsequently highlighted the polar extremes these two events hold in our contemporary (and manipulated) moral judgement.
This man has incredible insight into the reality behind global affairs, in my opinion. Recommended.
(Not necessarily my opinions Peeps. No flames please!)
