While showing edited versions of the games would be one solution the problem then is that you lose some of the excitment. In terms of whats there at the moment, SourceTV, the integrated recording program for CS:Source, has attempted to fix the above problem by dynamically changing the player camera to where the action is based on their current activites.
My main issue with these types of programs, however, is with the presenters themselves. In the case of a show based on CS you would need people who know what they’re talking about. Simply reading off stats generated during the game would be incredibly boring and just come across as patronising as the majority of other shows that have been produced. Its been mentioned before but the reason Bits on Channel4 was successful was because their presenters were interesting, injected a bit of fun into the procedings and, for the most part anyway, knew what they were talking about. So if this show has any chance of succeeding they’d better make sure they get people capable of presenting it in any enjoyable manner.
