I showed my girlfriend (she hates games) yesterday, and she screamed when she saw the babies, and the upside down crucifixes.
I also forgot that she is arachnaphobic. Guess what came scuttling out of a vent?
She started crying, and said ‘Why would people make something so evil ?’
I felt bad.
Momentarily.
However, later on, she started reading my copy of 3D world (which features an interview with one of the ID artists), and asked me to explain the sentence ‘generate normal maps from hi-poly models, for applying to lo-poly models’.
One hour and several pencil sketches later, I think she understood the concept, and she said ‘Oh. It does look much better than your other games.’
Isn’t it nice when they take an interest in our passions?
