17% off makes a big difference – in short term anyway , I think a few people might have been holding out for this news……

Of course there will be an initial spike in sales. But this price drop won’t lead to a huge long term surge in PS3 sales.
What PS3 needs is a price drop AND some AAA titles. -
Yeah sales will be quite high for a week or two as people in the know who were holding out get their hands on it but long term I am also no so sure ps3 will approach ps2 figures – ps2 is still selling well with profit on each device and Sony have just created a new lighter (by a third, 600 grams from 900 grams), cheaper to manufacture and ship variant. MotorStorm bundled with ps3 though really sweetens the deal in my mind.
