      Hi all,

Dave has just pointed out that our forums have just gone six and that yes gd.ie is officially now six years old! We might want to change our birthday cake on the top of the site!

Usually each year we have a birthday event but due to family circumstances I have not had a lot of free time in the past few months to work on this.

However, fear not, John O’Kane (aka greenbean) and others have stepped into the fray and with some support from me we are looking to organise an event on the evening of Friday the 8th of May.

The event will involve industry speakers and some show and tell demos but for now put that date in your diary and we will let you know more as soon as things are finalised.

      Aphra.

      Happy B’day!

Any chance you can spam us with the event details? I’m terrible for dipping in and out every couple of months and I’d hate to miss this (and I’ll do stuff to help promote it too).

Due to circumstances outside of our control the gd.ie event we are organising has been moved to Friday May the 15th – i.e. one week later than planned.

It will still take place in the Science Gallery on Pearse Street at the back of Trinity College. We seem to have a sponsor in place now and a few good speakers. Final details will be organised early this week and we will be telling you all.

the focus of the whole event is on casual and game shorts for PC and iphone. the first part of the event will have some industry speakers and the second half will be show and tell.

Since there are a lot of people involved in these types of projects we will be making a formal call (i.e. asking for people to approach us if they are interested in showing their work) later this week for projects that people wish to ‘show and tell’. Projects can be commercial or indie or student.

PM myself or greenbean if you want to know more or wait until Wed/thurs when the formal news etc. will be posted here on gd.ie

      Aphra.
