Advice for Newbie

Hi everyone, im new to the forum!!

i’m interested in computer game development, currently studying maths at college and thinking about going into games afterwards. i was wondering where is the best place to start?

I have done c++ and java at college (and will be doing graphics when i go back in september). i would like to learn how to program games over my free time in the summer.

Where would be the best place to start?

Oh and are there are websites where you can run games people have done themselves?

There are quite a number of threads similar to this one. I suggest reading back through some of the older posts on the forum, most questions will be answered.
