      WTF!!

      http://pressreleases.autodesk.com/index.php?s=press_releases&item=485%3C%2Ftd%3E

Since Autodesk will now own "the Big Three" can this possibly be a good thing?

Nope, it can’t be a good thing in the long run.

      Mudbox
      Max
      XSI
      Maya

Its a good thing for those of us using XSI….. hopefully they’ll just rebox max or maya for the next ‘upgrade’

They seem to have kept their promises with Maya so far.
I believe they will do the same with XSI at least for the medium term.

Hopefully they take good advantage of this and make the 3d format used less of an issue.

I think this will mean even less innovation for the modellers, Max hasn’t has a must-have upgrade since maybe version 5 or 6 IMHO

Reason for that is that they don’t remove anything out of Max. They tried that once way back and someone sued them saying them removed something that they used in the new version. Since then, its just getting bloated. So if they add a new and better way of doing something, they leave the old way in there as someone may use it. I’m expecting this to happen with all their products now.

Holy poop on a stick. Never saw this coming in a million billion years. Autoca$h are really taking the piss now. Well XSI users, there goes your customer service!
