I may have overdone it on chocolate and FPS over the long weekend but I think that the grenades in Doom 3 are the most impressive.
I love the shockwave that comes off them (and generally any of the explosions in that game). :twisted:
If they stuck to people like the Halo plasma grenades that would be even cooler.
It’s a pity they don’t have them in the Liandri Conflict.
I have absolutely no idea why I felt compelled to post about this. :?

Quake 2 had pretty cool grenades too, I loved the little mushroom cloud model in that. Although the best game weapons of all time have to be the HOG artillery in Ground Control.

Grenades in F.E.A.R, one hit kill and cool shockwave.
Also the proximity mines are in there for best explosion related action ever, especially in multiplayer. -

Hehe true, that was retro.
They aren’t quite grenades, but the firing the mine launcher in Resident Evil 4, and embedding a mine in a zombie’s head, hearing the beep…the anticipation…and then boom. Coolest shockwave :D

Nearly a week and still no mention of the Holy Hand Grenade or Banana Bomb from Worms, for shame. ;)
Oh, and the grenades from Gears Of War, love tagging people with them. Nothing beats giving someone that "I’m screwed" feeling before watching them blow. :twisted:

The "Bubble-nades" are shaping up pretty well in halo three. Can’t wait to get my hands on them.

I used to love the grenades in Laser Squad on the spectrum, if you manage to throw it right at someone they’d catch it whether they’d want to or not. Hilarious multiplayer times….

Don’t really think Doom 3’s grenades or explosive weapons are that great to be honest myself, they feel very weak or something. My own favorite grenade launcher has to be from Quake I. I used to love just bouncing the things off the walls and ceilings into a pack of zombies and then watching the gibs fly.. classic.. :P Although its not quite a grenade launcher, Unreal Tournament’s Flak Cannon has to be one of my favorite weapons in any FPS also.

Not really ‘nades as such, but… it just has to be BF2 claymores, for sheer tactical possibilities (and blast directionality).

– The little twist, the sound of it, and the ticking are just amazing. Whoever put the time and effort into even bothering to redesign a simple grenade, is a legend in my eyesGears of War
– Cmon, u can stick them into people!Cannon Fodder
– Rolling them into houses was the most satisfying :D
