Seems Hollywood has final run out of ideas, and wants to start feeding from the brains of Bioshock.

I reckon the director behind Predator (Predator 1 that is, the only good one) should take up the challenge.

      Who else? Director of Doom?

A lot of Hollywood studios have been scraping the bottom of the barrel for a long time. It’s the same with novels. Same story with perhaps a different setting and a change of character names. Pro writing guides even encourage it. One I read said "there are no original ideas, the trick is to add some innovation to an already existing story." Good to see such healthy optimism..

Anyway, games are still young and luckily have a good bit of time until we start to dry up.

As for the Bioshock movie.. meh, I’ll keep an eye on it.

I think its more the case that Hollywood (like publishers) wants safe bets- remakes, sequels, film/tv license and now successful games. I think Bioshock could make a good movie, out of all of them, rather that than Gears of War.
