InactiveHey folks,
I finally got around to submitting my iphone game ‘Coretex’ to the app store the other day.
Just waiting for it to be approved.
I decided to release for free so I hope you will all help me twitter the heck out of it when it goes live. :)
Made a quick website for it.

InactiveNice one David! Looking forward to playing it when it goes live.
Just curious – how come you’re releasing it for free? It looks like a very polished app, why not try to make some sales from it?

InactiveThanks for the great responses guys
@chris I did all the w8ben stuff but free because whenever I go for my next job there might be a chance someone has played it. So just taking the hit for the sake of my C.V. Though also if it gets better reviews for being free I will be happy. As soon as I get some live feedback I will get on an update as want to ensure I push the performance on all devices ( I had plenty of fps to spare on my 3Gs (capped it at 30) but know I can do more for others.

InactiveThanks guys. Not a word from apple about app submission. It’s status has been in review for 14 Working days. I know it hasn’t been played by apple as no new names on high score list and they have to test network features. Now I heared that last week a huge number of apps were released on Friday, here’s hoping for a repeat tomorrow. It’s frustrating because I bought advert space for Coretex on a games site ages ago and they have been very patient waiting for me already. But also because I have an improved 60 fps version ready to submit but need to know if there are issues with first one and would lose my place in the queue (if I do have one) if I put the update up. Anyway I will keep checking it’s status and will be sure to post here when Apple approve. Thanks again for the support.

InactiveNews: yes it seems testers try to clear back logs on Fridays. Bad news is I got a rejection email.
I had left in a "Vibrate/Buzz" On Off switch in the UI and the ipod touch does not physically vibrate but I believe does make a Buzz sound when vibrate function call is made so I thought my label would be fine. It isn’t, so I will remove vibrate calls and the switch UI on touch.
Oh well its a minor issue and means I can submit the faster version with this issue fixed in response. Glad to know the system works and my app hadn’t been forgotten about or had some legal blocker. Here’s hopping its the first and last of any issues and approval goes smoothly this time and maybe a little faster.

InactiveWaiting for your first submission to the App store is definitely not a good experience :)
It’s great to hear that it allows for your 60fps update though!

InactiveThanks guys.
On the Irish store it has gotten up to position 7 on free puzzle games, 16 on free action games and 53 on All free games. Which is super.Support has been great here, but lesson learned is I need more American friends. :) That or actually spend money / have an organised ad campaign. :)
I will write "A post-mortem / an insight into the app store" article for GD.ie if people are interested as I learned a lot in the last few days alone.
