I attended the last seminar of the day last Thursday.
The emphasis was on Discreets video-editing and post production line of software.
However, some twenty minutes covered the latest version of Max, which included some excellent enhancements to workflow, including, but not limited to:
-The ability to mirror vert weights within the skin modifier
-‘Relax UVW’, for easier UVW Unwrapping (at last!)
-Improved integration with Mental Ray renderer
-Enhanced particle behaviour
-‘Schematic View’ interface
-Realtime interface with Reactor 2 engine (including Havoks’ ragdoll stress-reliever!)
I’ve spent some time with the demo version, and it looks pretty good, and makes up the perceived shortfall between Max and SoftImage / MAYA.
