InactiveHi,
Just noticed on a number of occasions today that I received (or appeared to receive) an empty page when attempting to access some of the threads on the forums today. Could be a problem with my browser but thought I should mention it in case anyone else saw the same behaviour which might suggest a server problem.
Regards,
Alan -

A quick refresh solves the problem though. -

InactiveYep, that’s the one. A refresh sorts it out. I am using IE 6, how about you?

InactiveSorry Alan!
Omen, Kyotokid, Skyclad, myself and the N-gage challenge are under a tremendous amount of pressure to be humorous at the moment :)

InactiveSee what you’ve done Aphra with your humour award? You’ve made them all think they’re comedians all of a sudden. Don’t encourage them. :p

InactiveI see said the blind man.
Such a noble endeavour with which thee hath encumbered thyself, bringing humour to the uneducated masses. Hang not thy head in shame for I do hold thee in great esteem for thy valiant efforts.
So this has nothing whatsoever to do with the day that’s in it then!?

InactiveI assume that is aimed at me Pete. Sorry ’bout that.
Having a rather strange day spent on Powerpoint, AVIs and GIFs. Losing my mind just a little bit!

InactiveSorry Omen,
Reading back through the posts it reads like I was slagging you off. Nothing of the sort, I assure you. I was merely refering to the quaint tradition of April Fools day when you try to make an ass of friend and foe alike.

By the way, just how the heck did this thread become so off-topic? ;)

InactiveTis the day of fools, Ronny, so what does that make us!? :)
Does anyone not using IE6 have the blank pages problem, and no I don’t mean when you are staring at a design doc you should have started! :)

InactiveHey everyone, sine this thread is edging back on topic – I use IE6 and have never experience this “blank page” phenomenon. If a quick refresh usually fixes the issue then it is more than likely browser related. Anyone got any symptoms other than just “blank page”? (No doctor jokes… please!!!)
John.

InactiveAfraid not John. The link in the address line looks ok but the browser just shows an empty page. A refresh loads the page properly. I will check the next time it happens if there is anything in the source of the page.

InactiveYup, statis bat at the bottom says done, but nothing loads. Refresh and it loads. Only happens occasionally. Doesn’t bother me.

InactiveSometimes when I visit Shacknews I get the text disappearing and everything goes blue. I mailed the admin – and you have to delete your cache…..why?
This pointless post was brought to you by the letter ‘Y’.

InactiveBig bird says……
Seriously though, here is the source of the empty page if it helps anyone to figure out what might be happening.
<!– BBClone v 0.33.5p3 OK: counter file is working –>
<!– BBClone v 0.33.5p3 OK: access file is working –>
Seems to be happening more frequently but maybe it’s like the scratch on the window, once you have noticed it you see it first every time thereafter.

InactiveAh! There’s a counter that was installed a couple of months ago which could be causing it. It might not be 100% compatible with VBulletin.
I’ll get onto it as soon as I can, see if it fixes. Thanks Alan!
John.
