Inactivefolks, as per discussion on other threads, we’d like to run some events every year outside of Dublin. The first of these looks like it’ll take place in Derry in late June/early July this year.
After that, we’ve been discussing Cork as the next venue, some time late in the year. The reasoning behind our thinking on Cork was as follows:
– some excellent AI research being run in UCC
– recent set up of college gaming society in UCC
– Cork is home to Selatra, who have expressed some interest in getting involved with an eventWe’d like to hear what you folks think about this, where else you would suggest, etc….
Once we’ve gathered some more feedback on this, we can make a decision on the kind of event
Answers on a postcard please….

Inactivei just joined igda there, dont know why i didnt join earlier, becaus e ive been into games for years and developed a few demo’s(nothing special) during undergrad days.
Cork would be a great place for an event, handy for me in that i live here, long journey to dublin to the events.. :)also good pubs\clubs for afters
Also i work for the AI group in U.C.C. 4C and theres a couple of us interested in games a.i.\research so it would be cool to have an event in cork. might be able to help in some way with its organising.dunno? offers there anyway.

InactiveBeing the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast seems like a good choice. If you need any help planning the event I’ll do what I can to help you. Not sure I’d be able to help you much but just so you know I’ll be willing to lend a hand. I’m just thinking where the event could be held… Mal Duffin would probably have a good idea of somewhere.
Bloody hell, could Cork be any further away from Belfast!? I’m sure I can work something out closer to the date. Sounds good to me.
