Hi all
Would people be up for another meetup and chat (maybe in the same place in Temple Bar if Mark can arrange) and then afterwards for a drink or two?
I think maybe we could meet once in Oct and then skip Nov since there are lots of other game events.
Would Thurs the 11th or Thurs the 25th work..?
I could report back on the Games Ireland meeting…
Let me know what you think..

Just want to point out that 11th October is Pub Standards Dublin night. If not many people here attend that, I suppose you can ignore this post.

28/09/2012 at 9:27 pm #49014AnonymousInactive
Sounds good, I can book the board room again.
I’d suggest the 25th so as not to conflict with Pub Standards. We went down after the last meet but it was too late at that stage.

I’ll try to make it, thanks for the heads up

Missed the last ton of meet-ups thanks to a busy final year in my undergrad and then being away from Dublin over the summer.
But I’m in Dublin on Thursdays now for my Master’s anyway so I have no excuse for this one.
Any chance I could get the exact location for this one?

All the best,

Do we have an agenda?
-
15/10/2012 at 12:48 pm #49067Aphra KKeymaster
I was going to give a quick update on the last Games Ireland meeting that I attended and remind people of some of the forthcoming events in November.
Feel free to add something to the agenda.

Hey Aphra, I was gonna come along to this meet up to catch up with the GD.ie crowd. It’s been along time since I came to one, years probably. Is there an admission fee or something since there is a room booked?

Hi All,
Is it ok if I bring a few people along that evening?
The guys from the Babycastles workshop is wrapping up and I thought that it would be cool for the guys who travelled from NY to meet Irish Indies. :-)
Cheers,
/// Vicky

23/10/2012 at 9:11 am #49095AnonymousInactive
Oh, one more question, how long does the meetup last, as this is BabyCastles last workshop night and I don’t think they will finish late?
-
23/10/2012 at 9:52 am #49096Aphra KKeymaster
last time I think the meeting lasted until 9pm…but it really depends on the participants.
If you think you will arrive late PM either me or Mark for a mobile number as the meeting is upstairs and we can’t leave the door open for late comers. You need to text us.
Aphra
PS Re Thurs. Thurs seems to work for most people for these types of meetings but sometimes we have them on a Friday – it depends on the discussion on the forums.
-
23/10/2012 at 9:56 am #49098AnonymousInactive
Thanks, Aphra.
Do you guys go to a pub afterwards, just in case? :-)
-
23/10/2012 at 11:41 am #49099Aphra KKeymaster
yes…last time it was up to the pub standards event but it was pretty hard to chat there so I think this time we will go some where local to Eustace street. Any recommendations?
What is the ha’penny inn bar like on a Thurs.? The one looking on to the Liffey

Any agenda items so far?
What about Brogans afterwards? Just around the corner, nice and quiet (usually no music or TV on), and a decent pint…
-
25/10/2012 at 12:06 pm #49111Aphra KKeymaster
that is a good option…it has been a while since I have been there.
We have a few items on the agenda and people can make suggestions too, either here or at the beginning of the meeting

Hi Aphra,
I’ll be there a little after 8, so I’ll give you a buzz when I’m outside
I’ll be bringing some print outs of the survey with me, so anyone who hasn’t done it so far that would do it tonight would be greatly appreciated
-
25/10/2012 at 3:51 pm #49113AnonymousInactive
I’ll be there but I’ll have to be about an hour late unfortunately. Got something on.

Great night last night.
Did anyone take notes on what was said at the meeting? I think that’d be a very useful thing to do at future meetings.

being the academic that I am, I have some notes

Nice to meet everyone last night!
The main theme of the meeting seemed to be how everyone could share with each other: share expertise, experience, documentation, mistakes, business dudes, etc.
Would be nice to drive that forward, and see what platform(s) worked best for everyone (wiki, forums, workshops, incubators?).

Hi all,
Anyone interested in the wiki project, please let me know :)
-
26/10/2012 at 12:56 pm #49123AnonymousInactive
I had taken notes from last night too, but not as good as Aphra’s I’m sure. Plus, I had to duck out just before it finished up (sorry about that). I think having some record of minutes would be a great idea so as to follow up on previous suggestions etc. What do others think?
-
26/10/2012 at 2:54 pm #49125AnonymousInactive
Cool, can’t wait to see what everyone was talking about from the minutes. Sorry I couldn’t make it (along with the BabyCastles guys).
-
26/10/2012 at 3:38 pm #49126AnonymousInactive
I’d be interested in hearing about what’s being discussed alright, seeing as I’ve never been able to attend a shindig!
-
26/10/2012 at 4:34 pm #49129AnonymousInactive
Aw I had to skip it due to work… :(
Will make sure to attend next one!

Will try to summarise my notes and post.
