One criticism I’ve seen thrown at at it is that’s its basically a third person time crisis minus with more freedom.

Still plan on getting it though….once I buy a 360 that is.

played it for about 2 hrs of line, 2 hrs online. The online set up its not at good as halo 2, you can’t go into games as a team, which is weird as its a team game. Hopefully that will be fixed with an up date. but its great fun online, once it gets going, but i have not played a rank game yet, which i hear there are problems with it. (people quitting out before they lose, so they don’t get bad stats etc)

overall its a great game, a few people are asking if its a halo beater, but its really nothing like halo. I still play halo 2 online, thats 2 years having getting it, too early to say if i will be doing the same GOW

This must be the best looking game ever, the amount of detail is insane.

And with all the hype GOW still manages to be even more than I was expecting. I like it a lot! It certainly raised my expectations for any future releases (on any console).

Now, played it properly today and I must say its one of the best games I’ve played in awhile. Its the kind of game you just keep saying “wow” while playing. Graphics, controls, audio, general gameplay and fun factor are all to be found and while I only played the first three levels I believe the word cinematic should be used frequently when describing it in general. Definitly gona pick up an X360 for this one. :)

GOW needs to be played on HDTV (same with Dead Rising) to be appreciated to the max. From a visual point of wiev it is the best looking game ever hands down.

Bought it, played it. Some of the visuals are just jaw dropping on a HD screen…

Although gotta say im going through a retro phase at moment. Just bought sonic 2 and 3 for the master system (1.99 each). Some laugh in the house at the mo with challenge mode in sonic 2.

only seen it on low-def unfortunately, but it looks ace…. didn’t get a chance to play it yet, but i’m sure i’ll have to give it a go on the office 360 (for work reasons of course )

damn it, now i’ve a hankering to fire up the emulator for some sonic action and it’s already past bedtime :?

Bought it and have only played about 2 hrs so far. Played it on my new 50″ HDTV. Looks amazing, but wouldn’t call it a killer app as of yet. Maybe I just need to play it more, I find it’s good….but not great.

actually, I don’t see much difference between viewing it on a lo def and a hi def screen. Same for must next gen games I’ve seen so far – the one big exception being Project Gotham which almost looks like a different game on HD

Just finished GOW and really enjoyed it. Nothing earth shattering in terms of gameplay, just good, solid fun… and some of the best visuals seen to date imho

Co-op both on and offline is great crack too

Stunning visuals. WAY too short IMO. Story stinks. Some really nice gameplay touches. Never boring. The multiplayer features (especially join-in) make up for the short campaign!

BTW Spike Lee of all people has designed the signature finishing move for the sequel… honestly :)

Guys, he tried to comment on how bad violence in video games was by putting violence in a movie. That’s not a smart way to make a point.

By the way, in think you can already put a grenade in an enemy’s mouth in some Resident Evil game I heard.

Pfft, nothing beats the Cerebral Bore from Turok 2! Not to mention the hilarious violence in the first Soldier Of Fortune.
