This use to be the common thing amongst Howard Stern fans, to ring into news networks, and pretend to witness car-crashes, accidents, and so on. Basically, blag your way onto live radio/tv, and then start to try to smuggle in the names of the Howard Stern radio presenters (Bobba-booee, etc.) before getting cut off.
Looks like the Half-Life guys are following suit…
