I’m looking to return to the games business after a few years out of it, possibly into the world of mobile games… I’m very experienced with 2D graphics, and would like to know what colour palettes, file formats, etc should be used when developing mobile graphics content?
It mostly depends on which phone. We use PNGs across the board, but some phones like Nokia’s use different bit depth than others, I can’t recall off the top of my head if there’s any major groups.
8-bit palleted PNGs are fairly common, especially as they’re quite small, which is crucial when it comes to jar size.
