Jeff Minter’s psychedelic music-shooter for GameCube is officially cancelled.

December 10, 2004 – Development studio Llama Soft and Lionhead Studios today announced that they had come to the decision to cancel the GameCube-based psychedelic music-shooter Unity. The title, headed by Tempest 2000 creator Jeff Minter, had been underway for a couple of years and was featured on the cover of UK videogame magazine Edge before its demise.

This was my most anticipated game, more so than the new GC Zelda (shock!).

Infact I was going to create a post and ask what everyone was most looking forward to in 2005….mine was ‘Unity’

All I have to do is hunt and kill Peter Molyneux cause I blame him.

      I’m gutted.

      crap, crap, crap.

Indeed it was a very interesting project. Too bad it didn’t make it past concept.

Is all at it seems or does this somehow relate to the recent cancellation of Lionhead’s BC?

Not really a big Fan of Minter, or Lionhead in general. But I can see why fans might be upset, it did look charming.

I’d have to believe the excuse given, as the cost of essentially a one man development team must be low.

I don’t understand why they never realised that it was always going to have have limited commercial appeal whenever it came it

was it cancelled? i thought that they just move some (alot) of the team on to a different project, and the games on the back burner?
