No, I’m a fully signed up member as well.
The subscription is more or less the same as a Game Developer subscription – and you get that publication free as an IGDA member so it makes sense.
However, I’d just parted with the readies when I became embroiled in a survey from IGDA outlining that they were considering dropping GD sub from IGDA list of benefits!
Let’s just say Mr. Del A Roca(?) and I don’t see eye to eye on the benefits of paid up IGDA subscriptions. We’ve agreed to differ, however, adn we should see some improvements in the statements of benefits over the next little while.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, I’m at Torc Interactive on work experience and have been working away (the place rocks!)The full stats are:
14 full members in the Republic and 1 full member in the North (ahem, me)
326 free user members in the South and 3 up North.

Yep, many changes will be happening. Jason actually wants to do away with most of the benefits and significantly lower membership cost. -

I became a fully paid up member a couple of years ago specifically for the GDC discount. The benefits really do make it worth it.

Just to let you know the IGDA member database is now (partly) online. It’s currently being worked on and should be up in its entirety belong long.
