howdy,
there seems to be a fair few organised in Cork and Galway – check out Boards.ie for details or Room101/org. There’s a big LAN event in Galway weekend after next
Skyclad could probably tell you more, he used to organise these events himself
Also we (IGDA that is) are working with the Digital Hub to bring the World Cyber games to Ireland this Autumn. More news as it becomes available

Indeedy, as Tony said, the LAN Parties forum on Boards.ie is always a good place to start as is Room101.org. You’ll probably notice some severe bitching on the former however so I suggest you simply ignore it, go to the events and enjoy them. It seems to be confined to the organisers of the events however the new LAN Community Meetings that have started to be organised should recify that situation soon.
Upcoming LANs are..
MidLans in Athlone – May 27th/28th
Gamecon 9 in Dublin – 2nd/4th June
Galways LAN XVI – 9th/11th JuneUL in Limerick also host their own LAN and theres a guy on Boards trying to get one started in his cafe in East Clare too so you might want to check them out too. Also, if you’re in a college, things should be taking off significantly on the Intervarsity gaming scene this year, at the moment we’re still in the planning stage so I’ll have more news as things develop. :D

Really, bloody hell!
Dave can we have a size restriction on sigs?
Alternatively, a way for dial-up people to turn them off? -

Now now everyone play nice, its just a simple misunderstanding. I’m sure our new friend need not fear for his life in case of admin-sneak-attack methods on dark nights
