      http://www.gameconvention.net/events/index.htm

i found this the other day – hadn’t even heard of the site/people before.
sounds interesting and its near –
just a bad weekend – have my place booked for the torc bash already :)

i remember hearing interest in some lan gaming in inet cafes a while back – but the main go-getter/doer was dave, whose kinda far off to be arranging something like that (are you?)

are there many people interested in a gaming night in a inet cafe somewhere in dublin center?

      sound off!

Actually ran one at very short notice about 3 months ago in the wired cafe on aungier street. If I were looking at organising another one though I would probably go for the DNC over the bleeding horse (if they are still open all night). In general though I think the cafes finally figured out that we arent korea and that there isnt enough money to be made running the all-nighters.

      BYOPC is another (excellent) option.

well – if they dont normally do all nighters – wouldn’t they do one if you booked ahead and could garuantee x amount of people / cash?

how much did the dnc one charge for your one 3 months ago?

i amn’t familiar with the dnc, but i know the aungier st one allright (live next to it!),

and the BYOPC is fine, if somebody wants to volunteer a place, and we spend the first 2 hours making sure everybody is patched up to the same version! (the pain!)

One would expect to pay anywhere between 13 and 18 euro for a night. Was 15 in Yeah before it closed, 13 a head in Wired (assuming we guaranteed a full house which we always did). The byopc ones tend to either be a house job or rent a hotel room at a cost of anywhere between 25 and 50 for a weekend.
