We (dcemu) have been getting into reviews recently, but most of our reviews are US based and a few uk pr companies have contacted me about sending review copies of games, but they will only send in the uk (to me).

I looking for reviewers in the Belfast area that pick up the games from my house. The only reward will be you can keep what you review (and have the knowledge that a few hundred people read the review), but if things go well we would like to pay our reviewers in the future (but I’m not promising anything).

If you live outside Belfast but still interested in reviewing, I could post them out to you. But pick ups would be preferable.

I’d be interested in that. I live in SW Belfast, but I don’t have a car so pickups might be difficult.

As for reviews I kinda do them already, just to give myself practice at analysing games and picking apart designs etc. So doing them more seriously is something I’d enjoy :)

I Live in south belfast (eglantine avenue).

What platforms can you review for?

If you sign up onto our forums, and PM me I will give you access to the staff review area. Also if you could write a review for the site of a game you have and is not reviewed already on the site, that would be a great start (and to see how good you are ;) ).

I don’t live in Belfast (Dublin) but if you are in need of someone with a PS3 and both handhelds, I’d be happy to help. I’ll have a go at Metal Gear Solid 4 and P.M. you with it in a few days. :)

great, we are short in ps3 reviewers, so that would be perfect. Can you review pc games too?

I can provide about 160 reviewers all in dublin i am afraid, lol well what i mean to say is i can offer up my college gaming society as reviewers . and since we have eveything from , freenlance 3d modelers , indie game designers , computer sciene students , causal gamers, competitive Irish team players, and professional q&a testers as members , it could make for decent reviews .

Cool stuff Dark. Is Metal Gear reviewed on the site? Would be cool to get some feedback on the one I wrote. Which thread lists all the available titles? I found one thread (the one with the Chaloner Associates Ltd list) and was wondering if there were other companies looking. I’m ready to go if you need someone to review any PS3, PSP or DS titles.

No the metal gear review was not posted. Post it in the staff review forum, so the other staff can see it and give feed back before its posted to the front page.

As for game reviews, still looking for a reviewer for this pc game: http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=170253

We really don’t have alot of contacts at the mo, but we are getting more all the time, Chaloner Associates have been great with us so far, + we get alot of XBLA stuff.

At the mo I’m looking for someone to do a preview of Big Bang Mini (DS), they are sending a preview cart out (first 7 levels, I think), would you like do that one?

BTW could you contact me via the dcemu forums in the future (via pm or just make a topic in the staff review forums) as I don’t check gamedevelopers everyday (sorry guys :( )

eDen, just sign up to the dcemu forums and pm, me. If you can give me a sample of a previous review, that would b great.

Skynes. The site has been fine, what problems have you had? is it the whole site or just the forums?

      I get this:

      Connection Interrupted

      The document contains no data.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.[/quote:239283a760]

it’s the entire site, every page.

Edit: I ask if it’s the site cause I’ve tried to access it on both my PC and my wife’s laptop and got the same message on both. So it’s not a problem with my firefox.

weird, the site has been working fine, we have not noticed any drop in visitors. are you having trouble with any other sites?

we got a link from engadget yesterday
      http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/09/wolfenstein-3d-comes-to-sega-32x-at-long-last-in-homebrew-form/

nothing major, but a extra 2000+ hits for the saturn site, but reading though the comments no one said that could not access the site.

It’s odd. I have no problems with any other site, everything works fine. Rebooted router, flushed dns, did all the usual net correction fixes.

      Edit:

I managed to get to the site by going through a proxy server. But from my end I can’t access it at all, I can’t even ping the host server. I just get timed out.

that is weird, I’ll ask Martin (our hosting guy about it), or might get wraggs to reboot the server, to see if that fixes it. If your having the problem, who know how many more are having the same problem

Dunno what was done, but it worked. I can see the site again, yay.

I got wraggs to reset the server the other day. I guessing that fix it, for a while…. i’ll send and email to martin asking what the problem could be.

Hey I wouldn’t mind giving this a shot. I’ve got a PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP but my PC wouldn’t be a fantastic gaming rig?

Unfortunately, I too am in Dublin but I’d be interested if you are looking?
