we usually have a debate on here about our most charmed memories of games and our most geekiest moments of our lives involving games. But I would like to know what are your most frustrating gaming moment you’ve ever had.
You know what I’m talking about, that time when you were punching your joypad or the walls, or blaming everything even God because you couldn’t get passed a level or a boss.
For me It was probably playing Another World (I was playing the new mobile version which has brought it all back to me) and nearly every jumping part in there. that damn unresponsive keyboard nearly broke my heart, I was nearly hours on certain parts repeatedly falling into the same hole over and over again.
Another would be some of the ridiculous levels of trickstyle on the Dreamcast, an alright game with some almost impossible levels to get past.
So what are yours?

Watching Ian Hannigan playing “Oddworld – Strangers Wrath” while somewhat under the influence.
“Oh LOOK, I dont think I’ve gone this way quite enough times yet…”
“Oh LOOK, If I run into this wall enough, maybe I can erode enough it to enter another part of the level…”

I’ve actually seen him do that in Strangers Wrath, whilst not under the influence of anything.

The end of Half life and Halo 2. Half Life because it sucked and Halo 2 because I wanted to know what was/is going to happen next. Damn Bungie.

The end of Half Life 2…might as well just of said “We want your money….to be continued….we’ll make you use steam…*queue evil laugh*!!!” ….and yes I am aware Actevil(aka Activision) will distribute the next Half Life 2 addon, I just wanted to get a stab at Steam….

Ah so many…
The Chaos Engine on the SNES, what an utterly rock hard game…
Halo 2 ending made me scream at the TV.
Half-Life 2 ending did the same really…
Fighting Saverok at the end of Baldurs Gate I and getting my arse kicked till I figured out how to beat him.
Second last level of Unreal Tournment since all the bots made my old P2 233 with 32MB RAM slow down to a crawl and I couldnt catch up.
Phantom 2040 on the SNES cos it kept crashing on the last level and I couldnt finish it.That enough?
:D

Someone mentioned SNES Games, think the toughest SNES Game I had was Super Empire Strikes Back. Man that was tediously tough.
Also had Illusion of Time [Gaia in some parts of the world] and it was in Japanese. An RPG is kind’a tough to follow when ya don’t speak the friggin language. (Won it from GamesMaster Magazine.)
And as for the only game ever to “BEAT ME” was Metroid II : The Return of Samus for the GameBoy. Made it to the last guy, had every weapon fully stocked, used everything I had and the ba$tard just wouldn’t die. It is the ONE AND ONLY TIME I’ve had to walk away. I’m still pissed about that one…
…grumble….stupid alien brain….grumble….wonder if i could get an emulator copy….grumble…..

Cant pick from them so here they are…
Monkey ball 2 on advanced trying to get a monkey to balance on a 2cm piece of track is quite hard.
Halo 2 ending, got it on release date, finished it that night already about a million posts saying how naff the ending was why dont they just say “please buy halo 3 and Xbox 360”
The amount off time it takes to reload the bren on day of defeat.body harvest on the n64, had bloddy fixed save points that were about an hour and a half apart. it totally ruined the entire game. [/quote:d29d3433f0]
That, but I was stubborn enough to finish it.
Trying to finish all the levels on perfect dark on the N64 in super hard mode.
Trying to teach my mum how to play command and conquer generals.
Thats about it -

The revenge of Shinobi for the megadrive. It had no save option, i think it might have had a password you take down at the end of every level, but who wants to take down a 20 letter password?
The furthest i got was about 5 levels from the end or so. That takes 3 – 4 hours of continuous play. I was going well in fairness and i had a good few lives saved up but their was one point when i had to jump across a platform while having to dodge some enemy but i kept just missing the edge and lost all my lives… :x Still traumatized by it.

Thats a thing I loved about the medgadrive you really had to finish most games in one sitting….very fustrating when you lost but felt great when you’d finally finish a game.

And even when you actually do take down those passwords, they are always wrong when you try to reinsert them  (still haunted by a tennis game on the SNES with a massive password thingy) -

Yeah, Streets of rage took about 3.5 hours to finish, but it was such a great game. Don’t know if anyone remembers but if you answer the last boss a certain way, hed send you back 2 levels and when youd get back to him and beat him you could take over from him instead of arresting him.

Back in the Nintendo 64 days
WCW : nWo Revenge and WWF No Mercy
Both wrestling games were pretty awesome, but in multiplayer games, the constant banging of the R button to reverse grapples, and the players lack of response to any command when your character was well beaten up… man, we were bitting controls and throwing them across the room… made us really REALLY pissed off at eachother, lol
