InactiveIn case you don’t know about it here is the new game that places you at the helm of the Playboy empire.

Brenda Brathwaite is behind this game so it’s very possible it may be women-friendly but will it be more than a game bought by randy single forty year olds?

Well done on discovering that startling revelation, Ivan. ;)Does it really matter? It’s a game.[/quote:9bd61c0b7b]
I think this is more than just another game. Pornography has branched across many mediums but has yet to really become part of gaming. In fact, when it has attempted to do so there is uproar over it. The question is whether or not this game will further more advertise the stereotype of teenage geeks in their bedroom with nothing more than porn and their computer to keep them company, or will the game actually be enjoyable and be welcomed by the gaming community?

I agree with ronny, more or less. But still ronny you have to understand that although it’s the gameplay that will matter, it simply is not acceptable to some people, afterall if like you say pornography spreads into this medium like it has others there simply has to be restrictions, and even after saying that I’m still not entirely comfortable with the idea, in other mediums such as film and magazines this type of content is directed at a certain demographic, namely guys with nothing better to do,sadly. but here in videogames do you think that demographic exists?(it does to a certain extend but not enough to keep the sales guys happy)… I am always happy to see new avenues open in Video Games, and I hope with the playboy licence that will not change…..hmmm maybe Playboy pool, or PLayboy darts….. but anything else is just perverted!

InactiveYeah, I agree with you’ve said, Omega. By starting this thread I was simply bringing it to everyone’s attention rather than calling “Hark, a revolution is here!”
I guess time will tell. :)

Ah yes, but were a sceptical bunch now, aren’t we.
and to bring something else “interesting” to light has anyone set eyes on this new “singles flirt” game on the PC?, edge previewed it recently and to be honest it’s just the SADEST thing I’ve ever wittnessed, quick rally the Church Goers(opps another sterotype)

KeymasterThere’s no point in getting all deep with it. If it sells, the only reason it will sell is because of tits and ass. Nothing more complicated than that, no “gameplay features”, everyone who buys it will just want to see the video cutscenes of the playboy bunnies and there’s no point in arguing about it :D

InactiveThere is no point getting deep or worked up about this game. Its bascially just another license with (I assume) ‘ The sims’ type gameplay?
THe fact that is slightly pornographic is nothing new or shocking – there has always been porn videogames.
Taking that fact onboard, then what else is there to discuss? Its gameplay perhaps? Well I need to see more of it to comment on that side of things…

InactiveWhen I was working at Shiny on Wild 9, we had a project completion party at Hugh Heffner’s Playboy mansion.
Hopefully the game includes the option of selecting different levels of bunni-ness for different types of event, as I think we got ripped off… we got the spotty surfboards covered up in about 2 inches of make-up!
The good looking ones ( with bad backs etc ) were coming in as we were leaving, following sultans who were dropping dollar bills like confetti.
If I had a Torc towel on me, I could have re-entered as the Irish Sultan of Muff!!! :)

InactiveGot to see pretty much all of the party areas, including the hidden area in the pool, the mirrored room etc.
Didn’t get to meet Mr Hefner, he was off soaking in a bath of viagra or something :)
