Thompson started with assumptions the moment Rockstar announced the title, he assumed that you’d be the bully in the game and attack other schoolkids. This has just turned into a vendetta against rockstar now on his part, I hope this gets thrown out quickly and he gets publically humiliated.

“I’m pretty sure that the game is harmful to minors,” Mr Thompson told the Washington Post newspaper.
He makes a convincing argument in fairness.

I know a couple of guys who worked on that game in R* Vancouver (their now working over here on Operation Flashpoint 2 for Codemasters). They said its a well fun game to play, reckon I’ll be picking up a copy.

Niall, he IS a lawyer after all, you’d hope he’d be able to come up with good arguments. However, the problem I have with most of these videogame issues is how it’s said they’re harmful to minors, when the rating is 15 or up.
It is up to parents and retailers to ensure minors don’t get to play these games, not to the developers who have no control over it whatsoever. I surely as hell wouldnt want to be playing games with fluffy bunnies etc in it just because the game might give kids the wrong idea, kids shouldnt be allowed to buy these games, same way as dvds and the like -

I don’t know if you are being sarcastic or not but my point was he probably hasn’t even played the game and is making assumptions based on its title.

is it called “canus canem edit” in america now as well or is that just europe? they have display boxes in game at the moment saying the new name. It means “dog eat dog” in latin.
Have you read the actual story arc of the game? It’s hardly a columbine simulation.
The backlash to it has been crazy! And stupid.
Roll on 27th october though becasue im actually really looking forward to playing it.

The original guys “bohemian” also have a version by they cant publish it under OFP2 as they dont own the ip anymore, codies do.

The Bully game – which carries a 15-certificate in the UK – shows a character defending himself from school bullies. Tackling the bullies and stopping them from picking on other children is a key feature of the game.[/quote:b37af9970b]
Down with this sort of thing! -
