KeymasterHi all,
summer is called the silly season by media pundits cause people are away on holidays and serious reporting doesn’t get done. So I am looking for alternative ideas for features/news/columns.
One idea might be a day in the life section where people working in the industry write a short piece/answer some questions about what they are working on and a regular day in their world? Would people be interested in this type of thing. Just as something new for the summer and if successful we could intersperse them throughout the year?
other ideas?

InactiveDC seem to be gone into hiding, but a lot seems to have been happening in the mobile sector recently. With Bitrabbit getting off the ground, and tko/nephin/upstart seemingly looking insatiably for more people, an interim review of the growth of the mobile sector might be an idea.

Inactiveya a day in the life of a developer.
Game reviews?
Could have people submit demo’s of work and get them to explain how they did it etc.. nice way to showcase skills also.

Inactivetrue, true..
I guess nobody wants to read a review of a game which is already out.
So many other places provide this service. -

InactiveIn every company there are always meetings called for the sake of having a meeting. Those managment types need to feel useful somehow ya know… :p

InactiveI think that the idea of having a ‘Day in the life’ article could be a great idea. If the first is successful you could go on to create a series of articles covering the different positions in game development. I’m sure a lot of people would find it useful.

If you were there, i bet you’d be re-thinking that comment :)
Meetings are all beaurocracy and usually aren’t talking about games in a good way. -

Yeah, I’ve been rushed off my feet for the past week and struggling to find time to read posts, let alone post my own.But “A Day in the Life” could be interesting. Might give an insight into the difference in workings between studios.

KeymasterJust another point. News has been coming in fairly slowly of late and given my residency up on the North coast I am not finding out about things very quickly…
if your company has news please do send us the press releases or a few lines…
if you think you have a short news piece – you hear gossip, changes, attend a good event, then drop me an e-mail and send us a few lines. We may even pay!
thanks
Aphra.
