Resident Evil 5 stirs concerns of racism…

The first of such concerns was voiced in a blog, and I think America could very well go the wrong direction needlessly on yet another "it’s only controversial because you’ve made it that way with all your fake hype" kinda way, similar to Bully.

I think the game looks stunning, the African twist really gives a sense of being totally alone out in a desert somewhere, in a way like the Russian setting, but for me it’s somehow that little bit weirder.

This is a ridiculous concern, it should not even be an issue.

Ranters of this kind of social concern are unhappy if you leave out a race and now they seem to be unhappy if you include one even if the setting is one where this race is in the indigenous majority. I assume from their stand point Leonardo Dicaprio should be strung up for starring in Blood Diamond which is a movie based in Africa and a lot of Africans people die in it.

This particular subject annoys me, I hate racism and racists, It’s disgusting and we are a socially evolved enough species to know better at this stage, but I equally hate it when social concern groups or individuals try to invert racism and use it as a device to get their voices heard or achieve some pointless confused agenda.

Clearly if you apply a logical and unbiased view on Resident Evil 5 and the rest of the Resident Evil series, it is not a franchise focused on Racism nor does it even contain any minor traces of it. On the Contrary it should have come under fire long ago for not having enough protagonists or enemy characters of different races.

I don’t want to stir a race debate or anything like it, thats not what this site is about but it annoys me when another game comes under pointless scrutiny because of the ignorance of some concern groups. In my opinion the game looks stunning and the setting is exciting! I can’t wait to play it, if it gets passed the censors.

As a Black man i think the whole controversial race thing is just piffle. I personally am happy that black people are in the game and it set in african. It makes the game interesting and its something new beause how many games have you seen set in Africa.

I think they hyping up the game and it will sell big time. So they should just close the whole chapter on this whole race thing. If you dont think racist the bloody game won’t be.

While I agree it is a ridiculous concern and all this censorship hype got really ridiculous 2 years ago, I think they are concerned about is not the fact there are black people in the videgame, but rather black people being shot by a caucasian male protagonist.

I really wish they would go back to Zombies and dimply lit indoor local’s anyway…zombies are cool man! :D
