      Project Aim – Have game on CV, Release as GPL
      Existing Skills – C++, Python

      I’d suggest having a look at Blender – you’d be able to script specific gameplay issues, the Blender game engine uses Python.

      If you wish to extend part of the game, you can use C++ to do this.

      If you haven’t used Blender before, this PDF should get you up and running – http://wiki.blender.org/uploads/3/3e/BSOD_-_Game_Engine_Tutorial.pdf

      The Blender GE has Bullet physics, GLSL support, and many other cool features – it got a MAJOR update earlier in the year due to the Yo Frankie game getting created as a sponsored open source project with it.

      If you have a certain type of game in mind, you could very quickly create a template for the artist – they could then modify a scene, press P to play immediately, and then Esc to go back to level editing ( there would be no "waiting to export" process.

      You could still distribute the game as a stand-alone EXE, for potential employers etc.

      The best of luck with your project – it’s good that you’re focusing in on a project within a specific time period – this should help artists get a scope of what is required, with an "end is in sight" clause :)

      Generally the more prep work you do the easier it is to get people just in case you are finding it hard to find people.

      Pictures .. design docs .. a structure in place or even a website.

      Good luck!

      I felt that a team would probably be more cohesive if we were all around the same age…

      Considering how positively inundated with replies I’ve been (i.e. 1 reply), I’ll definitely be willing to consider people from outside this age range!

      I hope you get more coders now that you have expanded the age range :)

      Good luck !!!
