One would hope it is another small step in the major powers realisation that you need to provide value rather than simply content to customers.

or that some of the prices they cost are a tad crap considering you only get it on a wee screen, and sometimes the DVD is cheaper… ok for travelling or something maybe but not the kind of thing you can watch with mates!!

Overpriced and pointless.
I’ve never watched anything on me PSP but if I did I would watch them from the memory stick, not the UMD drive.

there are many factors: people don’t like double buying (dvd/umd), the memory (watch you own rips), the psp has not done well enough to support the UMD on its own.
interestingly i was reading in edge that movies like napoleon dynamite and beavis & butthead have sold very well, but other classic movies like goodfellas are being canceled, because of the psp current demograhic reach… teenagers

you know what really annoys me about my PSP … the level of the sound .. . it’s like they’ve limited it or something
either i’m going deaf (possibly quite likely LOL )
or it’s bloody quiet!
i don’t mind the UMD thing… my friends and I have been passing around our UMD films and games for a while now..

The headphones that come with the PSP are indeed sound limited. A bit of a silly idea tbh.

i actually sold off my PSP a while back, i guess i was just sucked into its raw beauty that i didnt actually realise that noting was released on it that was worth buying as for UMD’s, i think they are pointless and just another money hungry feature for the PSP. i agree playing movies from memory is the best approach.

Something to do with european law on decibel rating so they dont have to limit the psp itself?
