I’m more or less just curious here but as a freelance writer with a number of short films & animations & panel cartoons under his belt, I was wondering what the scriptwriting opportunities in the games development industry were like.

      Are there any?

How do you get involved on a ground floor level?

most scriptwriting within the industry is done by or closely with game designers.

you might try international hobo and there’s also an excellent book Creating Emotion in Games by David Freeman (once you get past the blatant self-promotion that is!

you could also try posting a similar request for info on the appropriate fora on both: the IGDA main site & Dave Perry’s site

Or get your hands on the current issue of Develop magazine where said Mr. Freeman has an article on “Emotioneering” (as well as a few plugs fro his book!)
