I remember going to GaelCon years ago when I was into Battletech, but seriously, some of those guys really need to chill ouot and relax over their games >:) Mind you it’s also usually the only time you can ever get a can of good ol’ Jolt coke.

McI, it’s a free for all, everyone’s welcome!

Fitch, they usually go on well into the wee hours past public transport time.

Ronny, although I’m sure no-one condones under-age drinking, if you can make it and have appropriate identification you should be fine, after all by the time you do legally drink it’ll probably be 21’s anyway and you’ll only be allowed have one and a half shandy’s before being sent home the way things are going :)

Well I did a Google search and got to CendantSoft.ie which was using the name, but on the site they just had the Vivendi Universal Interactive Games logo.

VUIP has a software localisation studio for a lot of it’s titles in Dublin, it’s based in East Point Business Park in Clontarf and as far as I’m aware from my journo days Havas was bought over by VUIP a few years ago, so that might explain that conspiricy theory >:)

Both EA and Sony have developers across to meet the media from time to time to talk about games from their stables, ie Jason Reubin from Naughty Dog last year for Ratchet & Clank.

If any of these come up I could see if they would be available for something.

Isn’t that what the piss-ups are for? It’s a bit better to meet people face-to-face then speak to them over a chat channel.

    Maybe it’s just me >:)

Toners sounds good to me, might as well keep them in the same place so people know where it is, and it’s a nice enough venue anyway.

    Hi there Stephen,

You might as well chance your luck with one of the colleges and explain your situation with them as the CAO isn’t going through until the start of September anyway. All they can say is no, but you never know you might be lucky and get into one of them that way.

Well, I take it that there’ll be nothing this month with Edinburgh and GDCE/ECTS on this month, but will there be a shindig in September?
