DUUG #15: The hills are alive with the sound of DUUG!
May 30, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
DUUUUUUUG! Ahh, it does the heart good to hear that single, braying syllable trumpeted across the hills and valleys of our fair land! DUUUUG! Come one, come all to the very first DUUG audio special! To preview this phenomenal event, merely continue down the page and listen! With your eyes!
This DUUG is happening on Weds the 30th of May from 6.15-21.30pm!
We are pleased to announce that this event will be hosted by the good people at Dogpatch Labs and that we’ll have their Vaults Event Room to ourselves on the night! Bring your colleagues, bring your friends – let’s make some noise (as it is the audio special…)!

Starting our presentations with a BANG (which then reverbs in realtime) is Danny Moffat – co-founder of Good Man Lads Games and their resident programmer and Unity expert. Good Man Lads Games are working on their first Steam release with the multiplayer extravaganza, Floaty Ball! Danny, a talented musician, has lots of audio experience predating his game dev career…
Over the course of PRESENTATION A he will unleash the potential of the Unity Audio Mixer, showing us how to prepare and present our game audio so it stands out from the crowd! See how the mixer can be used during development to get the most out of your audio assets!
After the break we have PRESENTATION B from Dónall O’Donoghue, systems analyst and secret audio ninja! With experience in 20+ game audio projects and producing podcasts, Donal will be giving an introduction to FMOD as a Unity Middleware solution, covering simple techniques for music composition and sound design and demonstrating the features of FMOD in a variety of Unity projects…!
If you’re bringing a project to playtest/show at DUUG, we encourage you to consider adding a scoreboard to the project! There’s nothing like a little friendly competition to get people queuing up to take another crack at your game…! (And if you’d like some basic scoreboard code to get started, feel free to ask the DUUG organisers on the day!)
RSVP, ASAP! We’ll see you there!
