Course Name:
Creating Storytelling Games with Unity 3D, Fungus & Spine.
Entry Requirements:
No previous experience with Unity 3D or programming is required. Participants must bring their own laptop and should have the latest free versions of Unity 3D and Fungus installed. Access to Spine will be provided on the day. This introductory course will provide participants with the knowledge and practice they need to create a fun 2D interactive storytelling game in Unity 3D.

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this course participants will have all the necessary knowledge to create a storytelling game in Unity 3D complete with colorful backgrounds, props & characters, branching storylines, music and sound effects, camera pans in Fungus and character animation using Spine.
Course Content:
This course will cover:
● An introduction to Unity 3D
● Exploring the storytelling features in Fungus
● An introduction to character animation using Spine
● Creating a storytelling game from scratch
● Deploying your game on the web & other platforms
Tutor Information:
Chris Gregan has worked in the games industry for 13 years. He previously founded the Irish office for San Francisco based PlayFirst Inc., and has Chief Architect credits on chart topping mobile games including the hit Diner Dash franchise. He advocates for making game development accessible to everybody and is the author of Fungus, a free open source tool for easily creating storytelling games in Unity 3D.
Paul McGrath is an animator & filmmaker, most recently he has combined those skills to branch into narrative storytelling games. He has directed and produced award winning animation shorts, documentary shorts and features. Paul has taught animation in Ballyfermot, Colaiste Dhulaigh & Dun Laoghaire but luckily escaped many years ago to set up Whackala, where he now develops documentaries, animation IP and fiction projects.
