We have received further information on the Insomnia event taking place in June, in the INEC in Killarney.

The event which takes place from the 10-13 of June is a festival of game related activities including live stage shows, eSports tournaments, and panel talks. There is also a Minecraft Zone, Retro Zone, Retail Zone, Indie Zone and the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) area.

“We are excited to come to Ireland and to bring Insomnia over to Killarney, said Craig Fletcher, Founder and CEO of Multiplay. He continued, “Visitors to the INEC will have the chance to experience a gaming event unlike they have seen in the region. The Main Stage at Insomnia Gaming Ireland is the centrepiece of the show, play host to live interactive content throughout all three days. Special guests from YouTube and Twitch will take to the stage, participating in gameplay demos, panel talks and live Q&A sessions.

YouTube gaming and Twitch stars set to appear include Terroriser, GassyMexican, Amy Lee, InTheLittleWood (YOGSCAST Martyn), AshDubh, Netty Plays, ChooChoosGaming and Mini Muka, with many more guest stars to be announced closer to the show.

The Minecraft Zone will feature tournaments across a variety of popular custom gametypes, and there will be an array of Minecraft themed goodsfor sale. Visitors to the Retro Zone can take a nostalgic trip down 8-bit memory lane, getting their hands on old school games on classic consoles.

In the Insomnia Retail Zone there is merchandise from popular games and special guests available to buy.

Esports tournament such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Rocket League and FIFA 16 will be taking place throughout the weekend, with a share of prize pools up for grabs.

The Indie Zone provides the opportunity to talk to passionate developers and also try new and upcoming independently developed games.

The BYOC area gives gamers the opportunity to bring their own PCs, consoles and screens to the show, hooking into a network and playing multiplayer games against one another.
