    Hi all,

I see that the Digital Media awards this year has a category for digital games developer of the year which is open to all developers for the most creative and multi platform game..

and another catch 22..DCU is entering the higher education award in this competition but we can’t include gamedevelopers.ie in our submission because it was funded externally..even though it was developed by students and is run mainly on a voluntary basis…

One other thing to consider… the awards, as far as I know, aren’t just for companies in Ireland, they are UK and Ireland.

This puts Irish game developers up against some pretty tough competition ( GTA III etc ), not just against each other and an unknown panel of ‘experts’ and unbiased voters.

It would be great to see an Irish company win this at some stage though! As Mike stated, the big players over here are still in development with their latest and greatest, and publishers are pretty picky about pre-releasing game details and prototypes before their official marketing begins.
