Game Papers have only been included at SIGGRAPH for the past couple years. Papers are peer reviewed and published in Sandbox 2010: ACM SIGGRAPH Video Game Proceedings. Papers are presented at SIGGRAPH2010 in Los Angeles, July 26-30, 2010.
“The focus of SIGGRAPH 2010 Game Papers is: ‘Addressing and Solving Practical Problems in Game Design and the Game-Play Experience.’
Papers will be chosen for their degree of contribution to and advancement of the field of videogame design and development, the player experience, games research, and learning from games.
Both industry and academic papers are encouraged, as are theoretical and applied topics, and other areas that inform and advance the game-design and/or game-play experience.
Papers must include some form of data (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic, case study, experimental, etc.) and data analyses (see Frequently Asked Questions for more about data and analyses).”
