Hi everyone,
It’s been a long time since I have been in here and a lot have happened to the Irish game industry which great to see do congratulations to everyone involved! One thing I think is missing for gamedevelopers.ie is its representation on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The Danish equivalent (spiludvikling.dk) to gamedevelopers.ie both has a Facebook and Twitter account which is used for linking to new job positions, popular discussions on the forum, events and new articles posted on the website. I guess the main reason for not having such accounts would be if the administrators of gamedevelopers.ie didn’t have time to post updates on the social media sites. Is this the case or is there another reason for not having a social media representation of gamedevelopers.ie? I think it would be great as it would help exposing what is happening on this site and in the Irish game industry in general. What do you think about this?
Thanks,
Martin -

Hi Martin,
well actually that is part of our plan but there is already an Irishgamedev group on FB and on Linked in.
I am talking to a designer about integrating them better into our new gd.ie design so at least we can have everything in one place and visible rather than fragmented.
re twitter…a lot of us are on there as individuals …but I guess yes we should have a gd.ie account as well. It is on the list!

Hi Aphra,
Thank you for clarifying that. I will try to join some of the existing groups.
Thanks,
Martin
