The Belfast shindig went OK, I didn’t arrive till 7:30, but there was someone there from about 6.
At 8, there were 4 of us plus friends, so not a huge turn out, but a start which will hopefully be built on.
Any recommendations for locations for the next nordie one? Muff maybe? Or at least somewhere more well-known than Renshaws.

Glad to hear it went well Mal. Sorry I couldn’t be there. :(
Did you actually get to talk about game development? :) If so what topics did you all discuss? I’m just interested to know what will be going on in future shindigs.
One nice place that I can suggest is Frames. It’s next to the Belfast Central Library. I really like that place, cool atmosphere. It has a snooker area away from the bar which is a great place to chill out and talk. I really recommend this place. What do you think of it?

Maybe Derry next time? I’d say the whole of Torc would go if it came to Derry! Unless you want to sit on piles of turf and talk about the nearby “largest artificial Christmas tree in Europe”, I’d leave Muff out of the equation….

There wasn’t too much talk about game development, it was more about who’s out there, what people are doing, more of a social introduction. If there were > 10 developers turning up, it might then be worth organising a formal presentation or something, before the bar gets hit.

Frames definitely sounds like a good spot for the next Belfast based gathering…

Derry/L’Derry/Londonderry/Maiden City/etc. etc ( have to be PC ) sounds like a plan for the next one, I’m sure with you Torc guys and the students from the game development course, there would be a good turn out. I’m assuming it’ll be a pub meeting for this one though :)

Why is everything exciting somehow related to Muff all of the time? :)

Hey Mal, this is a little off topic but I remember you saying that you never really check your private messages so do you have an email address that I can reach you on? If you don’t want to show your email to the world you can just private message me.
Nothing important though, thanks. :)

Hi Ronny,
mal@candomultimedia.com will work, I’ll not be in the office for a week or so, and won’t be able to check my work mail until then though.
I’ve started checking my private mail in gamedevelopers.ie now about once a week, so if you have sent anything I should get it ( I’ll check it now after I write this :) )
