Hi, Currently I am a second year student at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown studying for a BSc Hons Interactive Multimedia Design(it includes photoshop,flash,3dMax). The course require students to spend the third year on an appropriate work placement (at least 6 months). i had my hopes set on doing that placement in the games industry. I am a big follower of the games scene and the dreamcast homebrew games scene. i newpost at http://www.dreamcast.info or http://www.boob.co.uk and also a part of a small international(mostly yanks) group http://www.storm-studios.net . currantly i’m helping out on a game called Misadventures of Crystala & Tido for win, lunix, hopefully mac and dreamcast too. I love the games scene and i’m considering going to the uk for placement (games) but i don’t want to leave my family and GF.

so my question is: what r my chances of getting a games placement in ireland!

      thanks

sorry if this is the wrong forum.

      Hey darksaviour

      glad you found us…

with regard to a placement there are only a small number of companies and a lot of people looking for placements..

I suggest you look through the database of companies on this site and check out their websites to see what kind of work they are doing. Try to pinpoint companies who are working on projects that you might be able to contribute useful things to. Then maybe approach them with a CV and portfolio.

There is actually a chance you might be able to do your placement in Ireland though…

      Aphra.
