Thank Christ for that!! Although if its any consolation, the dancing at the Christmas shindig was FAR worse, I’m sure Ian, Skyclad and Aaron will back me up on that one. Thanks for the award and to Aphra and co. for the best night I’ve had in ages.

Speaking of pubs…what was a smoke-free weekend night out in Dublin like ????

Smoke-free pubs..well…it was a little weird to begin, but overall makes the whole pub experience better IMO..
Being an occasional smoker, i.e. one who smokes a couple while having a beer, it has managed to dissuade me from smoking more..which has to be a good thing!
Breathing in clear air, a foggy haze created only thro alcohol intake ;) and a marked decrease in the number of people out making it a better night overall..
(altho I did nearly end up in a fight – got pushed from behind in this surge and banged a table knocking someone’s drink over )

… Okay, a few people mentioned this on Friday night. Omen, don’t get me wrong, the smoking ban is great, but there is one really bad thing about it… and that’s the fact that you can now smell what a bar truly smells like. Stale beer, sweat and urine! (when the toilet door swings open)Other than that it was fantastic. You could actually see five feet in front of you and didn’t have to worry about how much this passive smoke is killing you. ;)

Hmm…something to look forward to when I go home :) -

to echo the sentiments above – was a great night
of course, winning an award on the night helps, eh Pete? ;)
Was chuffed with mine, I must say. Thanks to Aphra again for all she’s done and to everyone who has helped her with the site and in developing the community.
One word of advice though, Aphra?
After shaking the bottle of champagne, point it somewhere else!! -
