I like when someone attempts some thing different….I have not formed an opinion of his approach yet, watch this space. [/quote:9725f848f3]
I’d like to have that sense careful consideration before forming a solid opinion but sorry, this idea just seems too cool.
It just seems like a great oppertunity for games companies to get back to creating real games that are fun and creative. I’m not saying that there won’t be problems with this method, there always are, but I think that there’s a lot of great potential in this idea so I wish Wideload the best of luck.
Wideload employs only ten core staff, who focus on prototyping new ideas, and then after this stage, development work is farmed out to independent contractors rather than to a large internal team.[/quote:9a76bf78df]
I can see it working. A publiher approaches them, they make a prototype using one of their pre-existing engines, then it goes to another developer.
Is that correct? Or is it that they keep control of the project but use contractors to bring it to completion?
